Hey everyone!

Last Thursday, the 3rd annual JIAS Toronto Ready-for-School event took place. We ran a carnival for new immigrant children. The  event was run on donations and was facilitated by incredible volunteers. This is a model of what YOU can do with Volunteens! We make it super easy for you to create your own fundraiser or charitable event by providing you with seed money! To learn more about the JIAS Toronto carnival watch Global News tomorrow (Wednesday the 28th of August) to see the event on their Making a Difference segment!

Hey Everyone!

Hey Everyone!

It’s time to get those Volunteens application forms in!

If you want to participate, but don’t have an idea, contact volunteens@hotmail.ca and we will be happy to help you out! The type of event you organize is TOTALLY up to you!

For example, two years ago I initiated a Ready-for-School Carnival for new Immigrant Children to Toronto through the organization JIAS (Jewish Immigrant Aid Services of Toronto). I went around the city collecting donations, created “home-made” games for the children to play,  organized the food and entertainment, and I got my lovely friends to volunteer with me! The children had so much fun at the carnival: playing games, doing arts and crafts, and receiving prizes. It was such a success that we decided to hold another one last year, and hopefully we will continue this year! It just shows that you really don’t ned a lot of money to make a difference in the lives of others. Here is a cool pic of some of our excellent volunteers at the carnival!

Looking forward to receiving your great applications!
